Roundhouse cooks up a storm

Fifteen lucky members of the Roundhouse team were invited to Aveqia in Farringdon, London, courtesy of our friend Susie Robinson at Siemens appliances, to experience a fine dining masterclass. Aveqia is all about connecting thorough gastronomy and the Roundhouse team certainly bonded over some of the complex sauces they made. We were really pleased to be able to cook using Siemens appliances, as we sell them all the time.
The Aveqia venue is beautifully designed and the kitchen immaculately laid out – which chimes with the Roundhouse ethos of functionality and good design – we felt quite at home!
Head chef, Daniel and assistant head chef Julia, divided the team into four groups to prepare a meal to be eaten at the end of the evening. The four course meal included a starter of carpaccio of beef, a fish course of sea bass and white asparagus with a barley salad, pan fried lamb with goats cheese and potato croquettes, scallions and green beans in herb butter and a dessert of rhubarb sorbet, rhubarb and raspberries.
Each course was accompanied by a specially chosen wine, introduced by Daniel  and we think the photos show what a good job we made of cooking the meal – and an even better one of eating it!
