Maximising the minimum

IMG_6681aDesigning a kitchen can be more challenging when space is at a premium. A compact but beautifully designed kitchen we visited recently in North London is a good illustration of how a bespoke kitchen can overcome space issues. The owners of this modest kitchen needed plenty of storage, an area for a dining table and chairs and to accommodate all the regular kitchen appliances.

IMG_6676aTheir bespoke solution means that every inch of the space available was used. The clean, understated lines of the Urbo matt lacquer kitchen give a clutter-free aspect to the room – a narrower work surface on one side of the kitchen maintains the symmetry while still providing space for small appliances. White cabinetry maximises the light, a green colourblocked glass splashback introduces a pop of colour and textured tiles add interest to the walls.IMG_6686a
