Our made to measure kitchen islands are a great piece of social furniture. An island creates a hub for family to gather, friends to socialise and a place for informal dining. We believe a bespoke kitchen island should perform three functions; it must be practical, it must look good, and it should host plenty of seating.
Contemporary kitchen islands
Some of our luxury kitchen islands employ different heights and different materials to define three zones – for cooking, preparation and eating. Others include a robust work surface for food preparation, often a sink and a hob for cooking, while some afford the opportunity to make a statement with a fabulous piece of natural stone such as marble or quartz. Take a look at some of the best example of our kitchen islands.
Our designers carefully plan your kitchen island; they create a desirable space for family and friends to sit, either at a raised breakfast bar or at one end, or along one side. An upscale kitchen island will also have plenty of storage cupboards and drawers and often a built in wine fridge, warming drawers or even a Teppan Yaki. With judicious plinth lighting a bespoke kitchen island can be made to look like it is floating.
For continuity of design and a sense of balance, islands are normally in the same finish as the rest of your custom kitchen, but ultimately you can have whatever you want, for example we design many islands with curved ends where people can sit and socialise with the cook, or with a solid wood breakfast bar that can be cantilevered out to accommodate as many people as you wish. Worktop materials include: polished concrete; marble; composite stone; stainless steel; solid wood and natural stone. Gather some ideas from our huge range of designer islands.
