Gee Cartwright Cookery demonstration at Clapham showroom
We held a really fun evening of cookery and wine tasting centred around British ingredients at our Clapham showroom last week in partnership with Gaggenau cooking appliances. A cookery demonstration by renowned cook Gee Cartwright and wine tasting by the Wine Twit. Gee demonstrated how to create dishes for entertaining using sustainable ingredients to include canapes, starter, main and a dessert with wines to compliment all the dishes from The Wine Twit.
An advocate of using seasonal product Gee believes that provenance is fundamental to achieving exceptional tasting dishes. The cookery demonstration included autumnal recipes and canapes such as; Roast carrot, ginger and miso charcoal cups with toasted sesame seeds and micro herbs, Smoky slow cooked pulled pork topped with a spiced apple chutney on brioche toasts and Chilli, lime and coriander prawn skewers with crispy chilli oil. For the starter Roast Butternut Squash, Lentils and Feta Salad – a wonderful earthy, herby Autumnal salad, and then main Preserved Lemon and Sticky Date Chicken, a sticky delicious all in one Moroccan inspired dish served with coriander rice and autumnal tahini greens finished by a delicious dessert of Chocolate, Almond & Mascarpone Torte with vanilla creme fraîche.
Located in a former restaurant on Nightingale Lane, our Clapham showroom is home to a wide selection of our latest kitchen designs. A working bespoke kitchen with Gaggenau appliances in a stunning space is often host to many top chefs and private events.
