Fantasy Island becomes reality!
With the trend towards creating a ‘social hub’ in the kitchen seeing no sign of abating, a new stainless steel and Wenge wood Urbo island, which can be seen in our newly refurbished Roundhouse showroom in Fulham, meets the demand for a central feature that is both practical and good looking.
With defined ‘zones’ for cooking, preparation and eating, our sleek Urbo island has a beautiful solid Wenge wood bar that delineates the breakfast area on two sides. This rests on the worktop cantilevering out to accommodate as many as six to seven – even eight at a pinch. The cook is no longer isolated elsewhere because the robust stainless steel work surface that houses a flush hob is at the same height. The food preparation area is at a lower level and is contained within the higher-level worktops helping to disguise any culinary untidiness.
The base cabinets are in matt lacquer Dulux 53/000 neutral 02 with Wenge and Black Walnut interiors, so the island looks smart as well as being tough enough for everyday use.
