This designer kitchen was part of a contemporary extension, so the design reflected the modern style with clean lines. Strong contrasting colours were a key part of the initial brief with natural oak shelves and breakfast bar to add warmth and texture. Symmetry and balance were achieved with the location of the island aligning with the central tap and wall cabinets on the far wall. Although the island is compact in size, the use of the oak breakfast bar on black metal legs distinguishes the seating from the cooking area.
