This Studio design was part of a new extension which angled at 45 degrees so it was important the kitchen layout reflected the architecture of the space. A large walk-in pantry is concealed behind the tall cabinetry, which is hidden from view and the main kitchen, though quite compact, can be kept clean and tidy. The key brief from the client was to design a unique island which reflected the juxtaposition of the angular extension. Combined layers of worktops and an oak breakfast bar create a more dynamic kitchen island providing varied seating areas separated from the working chef’s side. The concrete is softened by the solid oak whilst the dark island is a feature point and the white cabinetry creates an almost disappearing act into the wall.
