Goodbye & welcome

Roundhouse has always supported and encouraged emerging talent and we actively engage with the product and furniture design courses at Nottingham Trent University, from where we’ve had many students over the years on an industrial placement – some even work for us now! We’ve just said goodbye to Alice, Simon & George who have been working with us throughout the past year and thank them for all their hard work. The RH team enjoyed a farewell bowling party where much fun (and competitive scoring)  was had.10343661_10152652286054059_6759568571279046659_nL to R, Simon, Alice and George
Alice says of her time with us, “My year at Roundhouse has been truly invaluable. I have learnt so much and met some really lovely people. I have gained skills and knowledge which I would not have been able to gain anywhere else and I will definitely consider returning to the kitchen industry once I have graduated. I would recommend a placement at Roundhouse to any design students looking to get stuck in and be a part of a very friendly yet hardworking team.”
Simon commented, “I joined Roundhouse on placement not having previous experience in designing for the kitchen/furniture market, however after a year here I feel like could become a full time designer tomorrow! The team has been welcoming and quickly treated me as a colleague and not a student. I have learnt and developed many skills which will be vital in my final year. Working on designs that will be sold, manufactured and installed within set deadlines helped build an understanding of the products and the needs of the consumer as well as increasing my eye for detail and time management. I would highly recommend a placement here to any student thinking of a year in industry.”
Now we welcome newbies, Monica Villaflor, Abbey Sheffield, Tom Mounsor and Tom Patton who will be with us until next summer. Good to have you on board!
